Friends of the Library

Moreno Valley Friends of the Library is a volunteer, nonprofit organization whose stated goal is "to ensure that the library can continue to serve Moreno Valley as it needs and deserves to be served."

Activities on behalf of the Moreno Valley Library include maintaining the continuous book sale from the library's Book Nook, and using those proceeds to contribute to the purchase of books, equipment and materials; sponsoring cultural and educational programs for people of all ages; donating countless hours of volunteer time; underwriting the summer reading programs; and constant networking with other community groups to aid the library. We hope that you will become an active participant in some of our many support activities and will be able to volunteer some of your time in response to our various invitations. Your participation will be most appreciated, not only by the library, but also by the community at large.

For more information, call 951.242.1777.

Join the Friends of the Library

As you undoubtedly know, the budgets of libraries nationwide during the last few years have been critically short of public funding due to the past recession, natural disasters, increased usage, and a dozen other reasons. This has resulted in an urgent need for citizen volunteers, such as youself, to help maintain the dynamic activities of our library system with both money and time. Your membership is a commitment to meet these needs.

To join, simply download, print and complete our handy application form. Then, send it to our address with your membership dues or donation.

Adopt-A-Book Program

The Friends, strongly motivated by devastating library budget cutbacks, has created this special program to help offset limited library funding. It's an opportunity for everyone to be involved and to give to the library its most urgent essential resource...BOOKS.

While every donation will be welcome, a gift of $25 or more gives you the privilege of becoming a Book Parent (or Parents) entitled to a highly prestigious and individualized book plate on the inside cover of the selected book(s). To select a book. indicate your preference of category (adult or children) on the attached form, or you may wish to allow the library to make a selection which will complement its current holdings.

This Adopt-a-Book program offers a special way to memorialize or pay tribute to someone. Book dedications may be made to relatives, friends, individuals, or groups you particularly want to honor, or it can simply be a personal gift from you to the library.

Make the Adopt-a-Book program part of your local business, social, or civic organization's community involvement. Service clubs, youth groups, senior centers - even preschool play groups - can participate. Just like the library, the Adopt-a-Book program is for everyone.
