City receives prestigious financial award

The City of Moreno Valley has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). This is the eleventh consecutive year that the City of Moreno Valley has received this prestigious award.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government agency and its management.

The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the GFOA program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the financial standing of the City to its citizens and other interested parties. The CAFR is available on the City’s Web site at www.moval.org.

The GFOA is a non-profit professional association serving approximately 17,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL and Washington, D.C.
