City and county team up on bridge widening project
Perris Boulevard Bridge over Perris Valley Storm Drain Lateral “B”
The City of Moreno Valley and
Riverside County Flood Control & Water Conservation District (RCFC&WCD)
are jointly funding the widening of the Perris Boulevard Bridge over Perris
Valley Storm Drain Lateral “B” (also known as the Oleander
Channel). The bridge will be widened from a two-lane width to a six-lane
width, while the channel will be both widened and deepened.
The widening of the bridge will greatly benefit the community by improving
the current and future traffic flow on Perris Boulevard. The channel widening
will enhance flood protection benefits within the City.
Both Measure “A” and Area Drainage Fees (ADF) fund the bridge
improvements, while channel improvements are primarily funded by ADF.
Construction is estimated to take place between mid-July and mid-October
2004.
The anticipated work will require temporary lane closures and detours
during working hours. Commuters are advised to take precautionary measures
in these areas.
