The Services We Provide

The Moreno Valley Parks and Community Services Department:

  • Maintains over 352 acres of parks, trails, and park facilities including the Senior Community Center, Conference & Recreation Center, Towngate Community Center, and over 195 programs and services offered to youth and adults.
  • Annually provides a wide range of recreational services to residents of all ages. Over 200 recreational program opportunities ranging from “Time for Tots” to youth sports and programs, special contract classes, Senior & Community Center activities and more.
  • Maintains and operates 31 parks/facilities; including 20 lighted sports fields and 3 lighted school district sports fields; servicing an estimated 417,180 Moreno Valley youth and adults annually for baseball, softball, basketball, roller hockey, and soccer play.
  • Coordinates special community events, including Youthfest, Breakfast with Santa and the City's Easter Egg Hunt.
  • Provides Valley Camp a recreational day care program for kids during holidays and summer break.
  • Coordinates 5 after school license day care sites and 2 recreation preschool programs at the Conference & Recreation Center and Towngate Community Center.
  • Coordinates the City's July 4th parade and Family Fun Fest, serving 35,000 participants.
  • Coordinates the Sunshine Social Club – Adults with special needs social group.
  • Provides support and service to more than 25,000 youth sports participants from 15 different organizations, using more than 50 different school and park facilities..
  • Facilitates the use of the Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center, the Senior Community Center, and the Towngate Community Center to residents through our rental program.
  • Assists Moreno Valley nonprofit sports organizations in hosting regional and national sports tournaments, resulting in a positive economic impact to Moreno Valley business.
  • Operates a Park Ranger Program, providing for a safer recreational environment.
  • Coordinates the production of the Moreno Valley Recreation Guide & City NewsLine , delivered to Moreno Valley residents. The department also provides information on the City's Web site, maximizing our information to Moreno Valley residents.
  • Member of the California Parks and Recreation Society.
  • Member of the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation.
